Guild Capital

Guild Capital is a venture capital firm founded in 2009 by Iain Shovlin (previously a venture capitalist at Technology Crossover Ventures and a management consultant at Bain & Company). The firm specializes in early-stage, capital-efficient consumer, commerce, and SaaS businesses, typically acting as the first institutional investor at seed with selective follow-on participation at Series A and B. Guild invests roughly $1M to $5M per company and prioritizes businesses with strong unit economics, effective performance marketing, and durable customer relationships. Sector interests include interior design, men's grooming, women's health, everyday apparel, and functional beverages. As lead or lone seed investor, Guild has backed Ruggable (later raised from Summit Partners, ~$800M), Home Chef (acquired by Kroger, ~$750M), and Dr. Squatch (acquired by Unilever, June 2025, ~$1.5B).
