Originally a Chinese live streaming platform, JOYY has expanded globally through platforms including BIGO LIVE (live streaming), Likee (short videos), HAGO (social games), and YY (dating/entertainment). The company completed the acquisition of BIGO in 2019 for ~$2.1B. JOYY serves users across 150+ countries with a focus on entertainment, live gaming broadcasts, music, and real-time communication. Listed on NASDAQ in 2012; rebranded from YY Inc. to JOYY Inc. in December 2019 and relocated HQ to Singapore.
