XIOtech

XIOtech (later rebranded as X-IO Technologies) was an enterprise data storage company founded in 2002 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The company specialized in high-performance data storage systems for enterprise and mission-critical workloads, offering a portfolio that spanned all-flash arrays, hybrid storage, and disk-based systems for large data centers. XIOtech's storage platform was engineered around a patented Intelligent Storage Element (ISE) architecture, which delivered extreme reliability and performance with industry-leading mean time between failures. The company served customers in sectors requiring continuous uptime including defense, healthcare, finance, and media. In October 2018, X-IO Technologies' storage division was acquired by Violin Systems, which absorbed the product lines into its all-flash storage platform portfolio. Following the transaction, the remaining entity of X-IO Technologies was renamed Axellio Inc., focusing on edge computing and artificial intelligence. Violin Systems itself was subsequently acquired by StorCentric in 2020.
