Xagenic was a Toronto-based developer of molecular diagnostic systems focused on enabling point-of-care molecular testing. In January 2018, General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems acquired certain Xagenic assets and integrated them into its bio-sensor technology development operation. The acquisition announcement says the acquired technology supported General Atomics’ microelectronics, advanced-sensor, and signal-processing initiatives, while Xagenic’s former research-and-development leader joined the acquiring organization.
