X.ai was a New York-based AI startup founded in 2014 that developed an AI-powered personal scheduling assistant named Amy (or Andrew) that automated meeting scheduling via email. Users would CC the AI assistant on email threads to coordinate meetings, eliminating the back-and-forth of manual scheduling. The company raised venture funding and launched a paid Pro subscription in 2016 before being acquired in March 2021, with its technology folded into an events platform. X.ai ceased independent operations following the acquisition.
