About
Weex was a Mexican technology company founded in 2015 by Ricardo Suárez and John Cooper as a spin-off from the Coca-Cola Founders program. The company launched as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) on Telefónica's Movistar infrastructure, offering prepaid, contract-free mobile plans with deep personalization for youth and millennial users. In 2017 Weex expanded into fintech with Weex Wallet, a MasterCard-backed virtual and physical prepaid card targeting unbanked young Mexicans. The mobile division was acquired by Yonder Media Mobile in 2019, and Weex Wallet was spun off as Mibo the same year.
