Warena was a blockchain gaming company founded in 2021 and based in Hong Kong that built a personalized play-to-earn NFT metaverse game. The project combined the play-to-earn and metaverse trends, letting players customize in-game characters called Sapiens, battle, farm and monetize NFT in-game assets across a variety of mini-games and in-game activities. Warena ran a dual-token economy with the RENA and WARE tokens and counted Animoca Brands as a principal investor and partner. The warena.io domain no longer serves the game and now hosts unrelated parked gambling and merchandise content, indicating the project is defunct.
