About
Visionize L.L.C. was founded by Frank Werblin, a former UC Berkeley professor, to build a head-mounted low-vision headset that uses the same sort of hardware that powers virtual-reality videogames. The device is designed to treat macular degeneration, an incurable eye disease that severely impairs vision, and the headset was already in use in medical clinics across the United States, including one as far away as Mobile, Alabama, while awaiting FDA approval before it could be sold commercially.
