Vertical Networks

Vertical Networks, Inc. was a provider of distributed IP-PBX software and all-in-one communications solutions targeting small to mid-sized enterprises, primarily organizations with fewer than 100 employees. The company's flagship product, InstantOffice, combined PBX telephony, voice mail, Internet access, remote access, and data networking in a modular, software-based platform designed for ease of management. InstantOffice offered features including digital trunk line integration, RAID storage, least-cost routing, built-in RAS and CSU/DSU, and support for remote SNMP management. The solution was priced at approximately $250 per user for a base system and $475 per user for a fully featured configuration. Active in the late 1990s, Vertical Networks competed in the then-emerging voice/data switch market.
