Vereign AG is a Swiss open-source trust infrastructure company headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, building the cryptographic identity and verification layer for regulated digital communication. The company develops and operates Verimesh (formerly the Stargate project), a production-grade trust infrastructure that processes over 800,000 verified messages per month in the Swiss healthcare system in partnership with HIN (Health Info Net). Vereign's platform verifies identities, signs documents, and makes every digital exchange auditable — enabling regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, and government to replace legacy identity gateways with cryptographic trust. Every line of Vereign's code is published under the GNU Affero General Public License v3+ (AGPLv3+), making it fully auditable by any regulator or customer. The company is incorporated in Zug (CHE-240.299.384) under Swiss federal law, with an engineering center in Sofia, Bulgaria. Vereign contributes to Gaia-X Federation Services, the Swiyu national eID program, and European digital identity standards including eIDAS 2.0, DORA, NIS2, and EHDS.
