Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC) was a Seattle-based advanced nuclear energy company developing the Micro Modular Reactor (MMR), a 45 MWth high-temperature gas-cooled reactor using proprietary TRISO-based FCM fuel. The company pursued deployment projects at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and the University of Illinois, and operated TRISO fuel manufacturing facilities. USNC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024; its MMR and Pylon space reactor technologies were subsequently acquired by NANO Nuclear Energy for $8.5 million.
