Trendy Entertainment was an independent video game development studio founded in 2009 and based in Gainesville, Florida. Created by veterans of the video game industry with over 40 years of collective experience, the studio developed fun and innovative games across multiple platforms. Trendy is best known for the Dungeon Defenders franchise — a tower defense action-RPG released on Unreal Engine — which sold over 600,000 copies within two years. The company received an $18.2 million investment from Insight Venture Partners before being bought back by its founders in 2018 and rebranding as Chromatic Games in March 2019.
