Teramount

Teramount, now a Molex company, develops the patented Universal Photonic Coupler, a novel solution for connecting optical fibers to silicon using standard semiconductor manufacturing and packaging processes. Its Wafer-level Self-aligning Optics enable large fiber-assembly tolerances that work with standard CMOS assembly lines, letting any fabless semiconductor company expand into silicon photonics through traditional foundries and OSATs without specialized alignment equipment. This significantly improves manufacturing speed and lowers cost versus existing silicon photonics packaging approaches limited to low fiber counts and active-alignment processes.
