Telegent Systems

Telegent Systems was a fabless semiconductor company founded in 2004 and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, specializing in chip solutions that enabled live, free-to-air analog and digital broadcast television reception in mobile handsets and portable consumer devices. Telegent's television-on-a-chip technology became the most widely sold broadcast television solution for mobile handsets worldwide. The company shipped 100 million mobile TV chips by November 2010, with customers including Samsung, ZTE, and over 100 design houses across Taiwan and China. Telegent was acquired by Shanghai-based Spreadtrum Communications in July 2011.
