TAMKO Building Products has been an independent, family-led manufacturer since 1944, when founder E.L. Craig started a roofing business in a former streetcar barn in Joplin, Missouri. The company's name derives from the five states it originally served — Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Now led by the fourth generation of the founding family, TAMKO manufactures residential and commercial roofing shingles, waterproofing products, and building materials, built on continuous-improvement manufacturing practices dating to the 1980s.
