Surgical Innovation Associates (SIA) was a commercial-stage medical device company focused on implantable device innovation for plastic, reconstructive, and general surgery. Its flagship product family, DuraSorb Monofilament Mesh, is an FDA 510(k)-cleared and CE-marked resorbable synthetic matrix for reinforcement of soft tissues in plastic and reconstructive surgery. SIA was founded in 2016 as a Northwestern University spin-out and achieved 80-100% annual revenue growth following its 2020 commercial launch. The company was acquired by Integra LifeSciences in December 2022 for up to $140 million.
