Superconducting Systems, Inc. designs and manufactures cryogen-free superconducting magnets for medical MRI and research applications, eliminating the need for liquid helium. The company pioneered cryogen-free 1.5T and 3T preclinical and whole-body MRI magnets, and also conducts R&D in superconducting magnet technology and provides contract engineering services. SSI was acquired by IMRIS (Deerfield Imaging) in September 2022.
