SmartESG, operated by Tokyo-based シェルパ・アンド・カンパニー株式会社 (Sherpa & Company, also known as Cierpa & Co.), is a cloud data platform that consolidates non-financial ESG and sustainability data — normally scattered across a company's departments, group companies, and business partners — into a single system. It standardizes work that used to be split across separate disclosure and ratings-response processes into one continuous workflow, and applies AI to help automate and improve those processes, including tasks such as emissions calculations and responses to ESG rating-agency questionnaires. The platform has been adopted by large Japanese enterprises, including trading houses, homebuilders, and industrial manufacturers, to centralize ESG data and sustainability reporting.
