SillaJen, Inc. is a South Korean biotechnology company founded in 2003 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, with a US subsidiary (SillaJen Biotherapeutics) in San Francisco, California. The company is focused on the development and commercialization of oncolytic immunotherapy products using its proprietary SOLVE™ platform, which harnesses engineered viruses to selectively destroy cancer cells and stimulate anti-tumor immune responses. Its lead product, Pexa-Vec (JX-594), a vaccinia virus-based oncolytic therapy, has been investigated in Phase 3 clinical trials for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) and in additional trials for renal cell carcinoma in combination with checkpoint inhibitors.
