SweepSouth is an on-demand home services marketplace that connects customers across South Africa with vetted, rated cleaning professionals and domestic workers. Founded in December 2013 by Alen Ribic and Aisha Pandor after experiencing difficulty finding reliable home help, the platform has grown to operate in Cape Town, the Western Cape Winelands, Durban, Johannesburg, Centurion, and Pretoria. SweepSouth was the first South African company accepted into the 500 Startups accelerator. It delivers services including cleaning, laundry, gardening, car washing, and Airbnb turnover cleans, connecting customers with workers known as SweepStars via a mobile app.
