Scantinel Photonics

Scantinel Photonics GmbH is a Zeiss-incubated, world-leading FMCW (frequency-modulated continuous wave) LiDAR company headquartered in Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Founded in 2019, Scantinel develops solid-state, single-chip 1550nm FMCW LiDAR-on-a-chip sensors that simultaneously measure range and velocity for autonomous driving, industrial, and mobility applications, offering higher pixel rates, longer range, and lower cost at volume than traditional Time-of-Flight LiDAR. In January 2026, Scantinel became a subsidiary of MicroVision, Inc., which acquired the company's FMCW lidar business and roughly 20 engineers to expand its sensor and perception software portfolio.
