Salus Discovery is a Madison, Wisconsin-based biotech company that pioneers new approaches to molecular diagnostics, with a mission to create simple, affordable, and impactful solutions to long-standing diagnostic challenges. Founded by researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the company combines deep expertise spanning physics, biochemistry, engineering, microfluidics, informatics, and cancer and infectious disease biology. Its core technology portfolio includes Flow, a passive analyte pre-concentration system that integrates with lateral flow assay tests to provide approximately 100-fold increases in sensitivity without additional user steps, and ESP, an ultra-fast family of technologies for extracting, concentrating, and purifying analytes from a broad range of sample types including water, blood, urine, saliva, and sewage. Salus Discovery has received 13 SBIR/STTR awards from the Department of Health and Human Services and has partnerships with organizations including the Gates Foundation, which has committed grants for developing low-cost point-of-care diagnostic platforms for diseases such as Schistosomiasis in low-resource settings.
