Rising Academies

Rising Academies is an education organization founded in Sierra Leone in 2014 that partners with governments to improve learning outcomes in public school systems across sub-Saharan Africa. The organization combines structured curriculum, ongoing teacher coaching supported by digital tools, and actionable data analytics to drive better classroom practice and student performance. Across seven randomized controlled trials, students in Rising-supported schools have learned on average 2.4 times faster per year than their peers. The organization currently supports more than 400,000 students across 1,400 public schools in West and East Africa. Rising Academies also develops AI-enabled tools to help students, teachers, school leaders, and system administrators make better decisions at scale. Its model is designed to be cost-effective, scalable, and adaptable to the needs of government education systems in low-resource contexts.
