About
Review Board is an open-source, web-based code and document review platform created by Beanbag, Inc. in 2006, built to replace the clunky workflow of emailing diff files and to pioneer many of the code review features that have since become industry standards. The platform supports code review across virtually every major source control system — including Git, Subversion, Mercurial, Perforce, and ClearCase — and extends beyond code to enable review of images, mockups, game assets, and documents including Microsoft Office, PDF, and Google Workspace files. Key features include multi-line commenting, moved code detection, smart indentation-aware diffs, issue tracking within reviews, CI integration with Jenkins and CircleCI, and Slack and Microsoft Teams notifications. Review Board is available as self-hosted open-source software under the MIT License, and also as a managed SaaS offering called RBCommons.
