Reverion

Reverion is a deep-tech climate startup and spinout from the Technical University of Munich (TU Munich), founded in 2022. The company has developed containerized biogas power plants based on solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology that achieve record electrical efficiencies of up to 80%, approximately double that of conventional combustion-based solutions. Unlike standard biogas generators, Reverion's system produces no off-gas—instead separating pure CO2 as a byproduct, enabling carbon-negative power generation. The company has raised a €7M seed round, an €8.5M pre-Series A bridge, and €12M in regional, national, and European grants. Frontier (Stripe's advance purchase fund) has backed Reverion for 96,000 tons of biogas-based carbon removal. The company is commercializing its technology in Europe with plans for broader international deployment.
