PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, commonly known as Bank BRI or BRI, is Indonesia's oldest and one of its largest banks, founded in 1895 in Purwokerto, Central Java. BRI specialises in microfinance and small-scale borrowing and lending, serving approximately 30 million retail clients through its network of over 8,600 branches, units, and rural service posts across Indonesia. The bank is approximately 53% owned by the Indonesian government through Danantara Asset Management and has been publicly listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange under the ticker BBRI since 2003. In addition to its core retail and microfinance business, BRI operates a growing corporate banking segment and a range of subsidiaries including BRI Insurance, BRI Life, BRI Ventures, and Bank Syariah Indonesia. As of 2025, BRI employed approximately 84,949 people and reported total assets of Rp 2,135 trillion.
