Proton Intelligence is developing the first real-time, on-demand potassium monitoring wearable for patients with hyperkalemia and chronic kidney disease. Hyperkalemia — elevated blood potassium — affects more than 3.7 million Americans and is strongly associated with cardiac events. Current treatment is hampered by the lack of continuous potassium monitoring tools; the Proton Intelligence device aims to allow clinicians to treat and manage kidney disease patients more safely and precisely by providing dynamic, wearable-based K+ readings without requiring lab draws.
