ProfitLogic was a Boston-based provider of retail profit optimization software used by approximately 30 large retailers. Its software analyzed customer demand patterns to help retailers optimize inventory management, pricing decisions, and merchandise planning. The company was acquired by Oracle Corporation in July 2005 for a reported $160 million, following Oracle's earlier acquisition of Retek, as part of Oracle's push to become a dominant player in the retail enterprise software market.
