Prime was a mobile app that securely aggregated a user's health records from hospitals, clinics, and doctors' patient portals into a single interface, covering medications, lab results, allergies, visit notes, and immunizations. Founded by CEO Tyler Hayes (an early Disqus employee) with brothers Will and Owen Imholte, the company went through the TechStars accelerator and had imported records for over 50,000 U.S. users by mid-2014, working with 400+ healthcare systems including Mayo Clinic and the VA. Prime targeted patients with chronic illnesses who most needed a consolidated view of their medical history, planning to monetize via services like medication refills.
