PriceRunner is one of Europe's largest and longest-running price comparison platforms, founded in 1999 in Sweden by Kristofer Arwin, Magnus Wiberg, and Martin Alexandersson. PriceRunner operates in multiple markets including Sweden, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Norway, the United States, Germany, Austria, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain. The service is entirely independent and free to use for consumers, generating revenue through affiliate fees and advertising from merchant and brand partners. In 2022, PriceRunner was acquired by Klarna, the Swedish buy-now-pay-later and payments group, as part of Klarna's strategy to strengthen its shopping and product discovery capabilities for its 90+ million global consumers.
