Pliant Technology was an enterprise storage company founded in 2006 by a team of veteran storage industry engineers. The company designed and developed Enterprise Flash Drives (EFDs) purpose-built for enterprise data centers — optimized for high I/O throughput and low latency required by mission-critical applications. SanDisk acquired Pliant Technology in May 2011 for $327 million to enter the enterprise SSD market.
