PeopleFund (operating as PFCT / PFC Technologies) is South Korea's leading peer-to-peer and marketplace lending platform, providing individuals and small businesses access to credit through an online marketplace that connects borrowers with investors. Founded in 2015, PeopleFund became the first company to receive a marketplace lending license in South Korea, a milestone that validated its regulatory standing in the country's emerging alternative finance sector. The platform enables retail and institutional investors to fund loans across consumer and SME segments, offering competitive returns while expanding credit access for underserved borrowers. PeopleFund raised approximately $83.6 million (100 billion won) across multiple funding rounds including a $63.4 million Series C led by Bain Capital in November 2021, drawing attention from Bloomberg and CNBC as a representative Korean fintech company.
