Patni

Patni Computer Systems was an Indian multinational IT services company founded on February 10, 1978, in Mumbai by brothers Narendra, Ashok, and Gajendra Patni, pioneering the offshore software development model for US clients. At its peak the firm employed over 16,500 people and generated nearly $780M in annual revenue, serving sectors including financial services, insurance, manufacturing, and telecommunications. In 2011 iGate acquired a majority stake for $1.22 billion; the Patni brand was retired in 2012, and in 2015 Capgemini acquired iGate for $4 billion, fully absorbing Patni's operations — the company has had no independent existence since.
