Infrastructure for intelligence on the web
Parallel Web Systems was founded in 2023 by former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and Travers Nisbet in San Francisco. The company builds web search infrastructure specifically designed for AI agents — solving how AI systems can access, understand, and use real-time web data effectively, including navigating paywalls and login-gated content. Parallel's APIs power AI agents performing deep research, software engineering, sales data analysis, and insurance risk assessment. The company emerged from stealth in August 2025 and raised a $100M Series A co-led by Kleiner Perkins and Index Ventures (with Spark Capital, Khosla Ventures, First Round, and Terrain), valuing the company at $740M post-money. Total funding is approximately $130M including a prior $30M seed round.
