About
Oxford Biomedica (OXB) was founded in 1995 as a spin-out from the University of Oxford and is one of the original pioneers in gene and cell therapy. Now operating as a quality and innovation-led contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), OXB specializes in viral vector manufacturing — producing the modified viruses used to deliver gene-based therapies into cells. The company has bioprocessing and manufacturing facilities across Oxfordshire, UK, Lyon and Strasbourg, France, and near Boston, MA. OXB employs approximately 800+ people and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. It rebranded from 'Oxford Biomedica' to 'OXB' to reflect its transformation into a global CDMO.
