Founded in 2021 as OP Crypto, the firm rebranded to Inception Capital in January 2024. It is an early-stage frontier tech and digital assets investment platform backing category-defining founders and emerging asset managers across Asia and the West, investing through both a venture fund and an emerging-manager fund of funds. It is backed by institutions including Digital Currency Group, Animoca Brands, and Mirana, and by investors such as Bill Ackman and Alan Howard. As OP Crypto it invested in 32 companies including Scroll and Omni, with a focus on Blockchain Technology, FinTech, and High Tech sectors at Seed and Series A stages.
