Octavia Carbon is Kenya's first Direct Air Carbon Capture (DACC) company, on a mission to scale Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology down the cost curve and up the impact curve. Having officially begun operations in June 2022, the company built its first prototype, Thursday, before commissioning its pilot plant, Project Hummingbird, and next-generation deployment, Nelion. Octavia Carbon has since become the 4th DAC company globally to achieve permanent geological CO2 storage, demonstrating an end-to-end direct air capture and storage pathway from its operations in Kenya.
