Laboratory-precise smart fertilization, directly on the field
NutriSen is a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) dedicated to revolutionizing precision agriculture through direct molecular sensing. The company has developed the LiveSen-MAP Nitrate Kit — portable biosensor test strips that measure nitrate concentrations in plant juice directly on the field with laboratory-grade accuracy, requiring no calibration or dilution. This enables farmers to make timely, data-driven fertilization decisions, reducing input costs and environmental damage from over-fertilization. NutriSen also develops electrochemical biosensors for digital health applications, measuring molecules in body fluids with high precision. Founded in 2023 by Tobias Vöpel, Débora Moretti, Alaa Oughli, and Prof. Nicolas Plumeré, the team placed 2nd in the Bio-Gründer Wettbewerb and 3rd in the Innovationspreis Moderne Landwirtschaft.
