Notesnook is a free and open-source note-taking app built on zero-knowledge principles, encrypting all data on-device using XChaCha20-Poly1305 and Argon2 before it ever leaves your device. Developed by Streetwriters (Private) Limited, Notesnook was born in 2019 in Khushab, Pakistan, with the first version launching in April 2021. The app is available across all platforms — mobile, desktop, and browser — and syncs end-to-end encrypted notes seamlessly.
