News Literacy Project

The News Literacy Project (NLP) is a nonpartisan education nonprofit founded in 2008 that partners with K-12 teachers, school districts, states, and community organizations to build news literacy skills among students nationwide. NLP's flagship product, Checkology, is a digital learning platform that helps educators teach students how to distinguish credible news from misinformation, understand the role of a free press in democracy, and recognize their own bias. With more than 20,000 educators across one-third of all U.S. public school districts using its resources, NLP has reached over 3.5 million students and operates with a $9.3 million budget and a staff of 47.
