Newcrest Mining

Newcrest Mining Limited was an Australian gold and copper mining company headquartered in Melbourne, tracing its roots to a Newmont Mining subsidiary established in 1966 and taking its current name in 1990 after acquiring Australmin Holdings. Its flagship Cadia Valley Operations in New South Wales were complemented by mines in Western Australia, Papua New Guinea and Canada, making it one of the world's largest gold producers with copper as a significant by-product. Newmont completed its acquisition of Newcrest on 6 November 2023 in a deal valued at approximately $16.8 billion, creating what Newmont called the world's leading gold company.
