Netopia

Netopia, Inc., originally founded in 1986 in Berkeley, California as Farallon Computing, developed and marketed computer networking products including bridges, switches and the PhoneNET AppleTalk-over-telephone-wire system. After renaming to Netopia in 1998 and relocating to Emeryville, California, the company shifted its focus to broadband gateways, routers, modems and Wi-Fi devices sold to ISPs such as AT&T, Swisscom, eircom and France Telecom, along with its Netopia Broadband Server Software. Netopia was acquired by Motorola in early 2007 for approximately $208 million.
