MicroSynbiotiX is a synthetic biology company developing transgenic microalgae as an oral delivery vehicle for vaccines and therapeutics targeting aquaculture and human health. The platform enables cost-effective, needle-free vaccine administration by engineering microalgae to express antigens, which are then fed directly to fish or other animals. The company's initial focus is on combating disease outbreaks in farmed fish including shrimp and salmon, reducing the need for antibiotics in aquaculture. MicroSynbiotiX was founded in 2017 and emerged from IndieBio EU, based in Dublin, Ireland.
