MetaSeismic, Inc. is a hard-tech startup spun out of the University of California Irvine's Applied Innovation center that designs and manufactures mechanical metamaterials for advanced vibration control and mechanical shielding. The company's AI-engineered metamaterials can absorb up to 90% of vibration energy rather than resisting it, protecting buildings, equipment, and high-value assets from earthquake damage and mechanical shock. Initial target markets include data centers and IT infrastructure, with follow-on applications in residential housing and aerospace. MetaSeismic is an official NASA Space Act Agreement partner and has received NSF SBIR Phase I and Phase II grants, as well as support from Plug and Play and Endless Frontier Labs.
