Metacloud was a private cloud-as-a-service company that deployed and managed OpenStack infrastructure on customer premises for enterprises. It offered a managed private cloud model that abstracted hardware complexity, letting enterprise teams consume cloud resources without managing OpenStack themselves. Metacloud was acquired by Cisco in late 2014 to expand Cisco's OpenStack cloud-as-a-service offerings.
