Mastiska

Mastiska is a UAE-based fabless semiconductor startup building sovereign AI silicon — data-center-grade inference accelerators designed for governments and enterprises seeking independence from US and Chinese chip suppliers. Founded in 2024 by Suresh Sugumar, the company operates with a model-creation team in Abu Dhabi and a VLSI design team in India. Its first commercial products are custom FPGA cards loaded with proprietary IP for AI inference workloads, alongside brain-inspired transformer architectures for improved performance and energy efficiency. Backed by $10M in seed funding from GCC sovereign wealth funds, Mastiska targets the UAE, GCC, Southeast Asia, BRICS nations, and the Global South.
