The original creator network.
Maker Studios was an American multi-channel network founded in 2009 by a group of YouTube creators. The company aggregated and supported tens of thousands of YouTube content creators, offering production resources, audience development, distribution, and brand sponsorship opportunities. At its peak it worked with over 55,000 creators. Disney acquired Maker Studios in March 2014 for $500 million (with up to $450 million in performance-based earn-outs) and absorbed it into the Disney Digital Network in 2017.
