Mahana Therapeutics

Mahana Therapeutics was a San Francisco and London-based prescription digital therapeutics company co-founded in 2018 by Robert Paull and Simon Levy to deliver scalable, clinically validated cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for gastrointestinal disorders. Its flagship product, Mahana IBS (also called Parallel), was the first digital therapeutic to receive FDA clearance for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, delivering a structured 3-month CBT program via mobile app without requiring in-person visits. The company raised $61 million in a 2021 Series B led by JAZZ Venture Partners and Lux Capital, and subsequently signed a commercialization agreement with Bayer's Consumer Health division to expand market reach.
