M-tron Industries, Inc. (Mtron), trading as MtronPTI, is a designer and manufacturer of highly engineered, high-reliability frequency and spectrum control products for defense, aerospace, telecommunications, and industrial applications. Founded in 1965 as Mechtronics Industries, Inc. in Yankton, South Dakota, the company initially built crystals for the CB radio market before pivoting to precision oscillator and filter products. In 2004, Mtron acquired Piezo Technology, Inc. (PTI), a company founded in 1965 that specialized in crystal filters, TCXO, and OCXO products for military, avionics, and instrumentation markets. The combined MtronPTI entity offers a broad portfolio including crystal resonators, XO, VCXO, TCXO, OCXO oscillators, RF and microwave filters, amplifiers, and spectrum control solutions. Products are engineered for high-reliability environments including military (MISA markets), satellite, space, avionics, and high-end telecommunications infrastructure. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Yankton, South Dakota and Orlando, Florida, with additional locations in Noida, India and sales offices in Hong Kong. MtronPTI trades on NYSE American under the ticker MPTI.
