Lulo

Lulo is a mobile app that empowers WIC-eligible families to understand and maximize their federal food benefits. Built with over 100 WIC families using participatory design, the Lulo app helps families navigate eligible foods, reduce shopping time, and redeem benefits they would otherwise lose. Families using Lulo show 12% increases in WIC benefit redemption and over 90% report significant time savings — averaging 27 minutes saved per shopping trip. Lulo operates a hybrid model with a nonprofit arm, the WIC Data Project, leveraging data to improve WIC program delivery and support policy and advocacy. The company is incubated at Robin Hood Blue Ridge Labs and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York.
